STYRA| EVIA
Styra is a picturesque, virgin, genuine, untouched village, ideal for peaceful, relaxing, holidays. This unspoiled corner of Greece has an idyllic Mediterranean landscape combining mountains and sea, countless beaches, unrivaled sunsets and is blessed with a very pleasant climate during the whole year.
The village is built around a village square, which is dominated by an impressive church and has charming cafés, taverns, a new pharmacy, local supermarkets, baker, butcher and greengrocer. There is also a police station and a small town hall. From the square, a maze of cobbled lanes lead up to a charming spring and an ancient olive press. The old spring is surrounded by massive plane trees making this a delightful and tranquil place.
The village still celebrates many traditional festivals and it was mentioned in Homer’s Iliad and is probably the best maintained and most sophisticated village in the area. Don’t miss visiting the Drakospita, the Acropolis of Styra (castle of Armenon), the great fountain and the folklore museum of Kapsala.
