Evia is after Crete the second largest island in Greece and offers glorious mountain roads, challenging treks, major archaeological finds, many uncrowded beaches, an ideal and exceptional destination for people of all ages. The island of Evia has only become known as a tourist destination for all seasons within the last several years. Evia has an unchanged natural environment totally unaffected by mass tourism. A place that remains genuine, authentic and traditional.

The route from Athens and the international airport of Eleftherios Venizelos is by main highway and just one short hour drive away. Access is by bridge from the mainland and there is also several drive on drive off ferry boat services available at other access points.

The House of Prince is located in South Evia in Styra, a delightful village, just a 5 minute drive from the ferry port at Nea Styra and its regular ferry service to Agia Marina on the Greek mainland (an hours’ drive from Athens International Airport).

Styra is a picturesque, virgin, genuine, untouched village, ideal for peaceful, relaxing, holidays. This unspoiled corner of Greece has an idyllic Mediterranean landscape combining mountains and sea, countless beaches, unrivaled sunsets and is blessed with a very pleasant climate during the whole year. The village is built around a village square, which is dominated by an impressive church and has charming cafés, taverns, a new pharmacy, local supermarkets, baker, butcher and greengrocer. There is also a police station and a small town hall. From the square, a maze of cobbled lanes lead up to a charming spring and an ancient olive press. The old spring is surrounded by massive plane trees making this a delightful and tranquil place.

The village still celebrates many traditional festivals and has the most stunning views down to the coast and over the Bay of Styra and over the valley to the surrounding mountains and hills.Styra was mentioned in Homer’s Iliad and is probably the best maintained and most sophisticated village in the area. Don’t miss visiting the Drakospita, the Acropolis of Styra (castle of Armenon), the great fountain and the folklore museum of Kapsala.

Happy holidays!
